Gather information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Put together a list of stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Gather information from surveys, interviews, meetings, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Gather further information from various documentation and tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Perform the assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using a survey\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure you achieve consensus<\/li>\n<li>Document the interpretations of questions and answers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Consultant\/ vendor<\/li>\n<li>Implied from the narrative<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Visualize the results<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><\/strong>Use a spider chart and\/or table<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Further advice<\/h3>\n<p>Since not every organization has the benefit of investing all the resources that they need, into data governance, you might decide to reduce the scope and decide to conduct the initial assessment for just one business unit or function, or geographic region.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you might choose not to go through all of the domains to do the assessment, and only pick those that are of immediate interest.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h3>Example of the results
