Besides the lessons learned presented in the video lesson, there are a couple of recommendations I want to bring to your attention:<\/p>\n
Starting with a definition from scratch is simply too daunting. My recommendation is to go get some inspiration from industry terms to seed your business glossary. When you adopt that technique the conversation immediately becomes if that definition fits your business or if it needs to be modified. If you do start looking at third party sources, consider if you want to keep your organization\u2019s specific terms along side industry standard ones or replace the industry standard ones entirely.<\/p>\n
I’ve seen organizations also recording policies, report names, even to record the in-house names of the tools that they use.
