Becoming a Member of LightsOnData Courses<\/h4>\n<p>We have a whole section of our site dedicated to provided training resources.<\/p>\n<p>When you sign up for a LightsOnData Courses account we keep a record of the following data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Name<\/li>\n<li>Email address<\/li>\n<li>The ID of the content that you signed up through (there are multiple entry points to LightsOnData Courses)<\/li>\n<li>MailerLite Group<\/li>\n<li>Course title<\/li>\n<li>Completion date (if completing the course)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The name and email address are necessary to create the account through which the coursers are delivered to you.<\/p>\n<p>When you click to download your course certificate, personal data included in the certificate design (such as name, course title and completion date) will be processed by Thrive Themes servers for the purpose of returning a certificate PDF displaying student information. This data will not be stored on Thrive Themes server and will be lost after the certificate is issued.<\/p>\n<p>When you sign up to LightsOnData Courses we will send your name, email address and MailerLite Group data to a third party service called MailerLite.&nbsp; MailerLite is a tool that many businesses use to send emails to customers and allows us to send you product or service announcements, further training resources and links to our blog content.<\/p>\n<p>These emails are designed to enhance your experience with us, but you can opt out at any time by clicking the \u201cUnsubscribe\u201d link at the bottom of any email. &nbsp;This will remove you from our list so that you don\u2019t receive any further emails from us.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>5. Purchasing a Product from Us<\/h4>\n<p>When purchasing a product from us, we collect the following data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First name<\/li>\n<li>Last name<\/li>\n<li>IP address<\/li>\n<li>Email address<\/li>\n<li>Billing address<\/li>\n<li>Country of residence<\/li>\n<li>Post code<\/li>\n<li>Affiliate ID (of the affiliate that referred you)<\/li>\n<li>Tax evidence (required for Digital VAT payments)\n<ul>\n<li>IP address<\/li>\n<li>Geo-location of IP address<\/li>\n<li>VAT number<\/li>\n<li>Billing country<\/li>\n<li>If you declared that you\u2019re a resident of a country other than your billing country and your IP address country. &nbsp;(For instance, you might be purchasing a product from Portugal, but you\u2019re a French citizen. &nbsp;In this case, you can manually declare that you\u2019re a French citizen on our checkout page).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Please note that this data is captured when you submit an order on our checkout page regardless of whether you complete the purchase of the product through our payment processor, PayPal.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This data is required for the following reasons:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Compliance \u2013 we have a duty to understand what country you are resident of so that we can charge the correct VAT amount. &nbsp;We must also keep a record of this data for tax audit purposes.<\/li>\n<li>Integration with our payment processor \u2013 we collect address personal data such as your name, email and address to integrate with PayPal (the service we use to collect payments)<\/li>\n<li>Product delivery \u2013 In order to give you access to the products that you purchase and to our support team, we need to create an account using your name and email address.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We also send your name, email address and product group to our email service provider called MailerLite.<\/p>\n<p>This allows us to send you emails about product updates (such as new features that have been released), training courses and any other information related to the product that you\u2019ve purchased.<\/p>\n<p>These emails are designed to improve your product experience but you can opt out at any time by clicking the \u201cUnsubscribe\u201d link at the bottom of any email you receive.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>6. Signing Up as an Affiliate<\/h4>\n<p>LightsOnData operate an affiliate program. Registered affiliates can refer customers and receive a commission.
