Once the report count starts piling up, having this kind of structure saves everyone a ton of time. Something I’d add is making sure the inventory actually lives in a tool people will open on a daily basis, not in some forgotten spreadsheet.

We’ve been testing Dokmee for organizing docs and metadata in a cleaner way, and it’s been handy for keeping things consistent across teams. Matching the tool to the workflow makes all the difference.

Hi Kristina,
Great question! There aren’t any dedicated tools to manage a report inventory/repository. Using Excel is absolutely a great start, especially if you implement version control on the file itself, but there are also ways you can use online forms, SharePoint, or your incident management or PM tools to manage this list. I’ll put together an article on the topic as there’s a bit more to mention than this comment box allows.
Thanks again for asking such a great question.
George

A simple Excel spreadsheet or are there more useful options? Thx, k!
